Announcers for No. 4 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Penn State on FOX in Week 10
By Josh Yourish
Penn State’s biggest game of the season is on Saturday at Beaver Stadium and the college football media world is converging on Happy Valley. Both FOX Big Noon Kickoff and ESPN’s College Gameday will be set up pregame and the game will be featured on FOX at Noon.
The broadcast destination of this game has been a debate since the offseason when Penn State was attempting to plan its White Out Game. Fear of FOX grabbing this game and moving it to a Noon kickoff instead of it being in primetime forced the program to select Week 11 against Washington to be the White Out Game.
While it is still a matchup of two top-5 teams, it’s not a showdown of unbeaten teams. Ohio State took a loss to Oregon in Eugene and now Penn State has a chance to knock the Buckeyes out of the Big Ten title race. Without divisions in the newly expanded 18-team Big Ten, the conference title game will feature the top two teams and two losses almost certainly won’t get it done with the Ducks, Nittany Lions, and Indiana Hoosiers all still undefeated.
James Franklin is 1-9 against Ohio State, but this is likely Penn State’s best chance to score a rivalry win since a one-point home loss in 2018. However, that will hinge on the health of starting quarterback Drew Allar.
Who are the announcers for Ohio State vs. Penn State?
Play-by-play broadcaster Gus Johnson will lead FOX’s Big Noon crew at Beaver Stadium on Saturday with color commentator Joel Klatt joining him in the booth and sideline reporter Jenny Taft on the field.
This will be the third time this season that FOX’s No. 1 crew will be announcing a Penn State game. Johnson, Klatt, and Taft were in Morgantown in Week 1 and Happy Valley for Penn State’s Week 6 win over UCLA.
