From the moment it was announced that Penn State football had made the difficult decision to fire James Franklin, we've seen a negative impact in terms of recruiting. It seems like the 2026 class is falling apart and other schools are taking advantage.
Penn State's Curt Cignetti dream is now dead thanks to historic deal
This now includes Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide, who have their eyes on Penn State wide receiver commit Jahsiear Rogers. The 5-11, 180-pounder remains committed to the Nittany Lions, but he has locked in an official visit to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs. LSU game. This is not what the Penn State faithful wanted to see right now:

Penn State commit Jahsiear Rogers has scheduled an Alabama visit for the LSU game
The environment at Alabama is expected to be rockin' for the Nov. 8 showdown against Brian Kelly and the Tigers. Might College GameDay be in town for that one? That remains unknown, but DeBoer is getting Rogers on campus at the right time.
It's expected to be a massive recruiting weekend for Alabama when the Tigers are in town, which could ultimately make a big impact on Rogers' final decision. He is yet to decommit, but the fact that he has scheduled this trip to Bama sure has a lot of people talking.
Originally, the elite prospect committed to James Franklin and PSU in June 2024. He gave an incredibly early pledge to the Nittany Lions, but athletic director Pat Kraft deciding to part ways with Franklin has changed everything for the speedster out of Delaware.
Throughout his recruitment, Rogers has picked up a total of 10 offers per his 247Sports page. He's ranked four stars, the No. 52 WR in the country and No. 1 player from Delaware for his class. He was considered a huge get for Penn State and people have been excited about his future with the Big Ten side. Could Alabama get him to flip his decision and make him realize he should play in the SEC instead? That's the last thing Penn State supporters want to see happen.
