Penn State football quickly emerged as the team to beat in landing three-star cornerback Semajay Robinson from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Penn State has in-conference competition for this 4-star safety target

The Nittany Lions extended Robinson an offer on Jan. 27 and soon after, it was announced that he plans on visiting Happy Valley sooner rather than later. He is scheduled to visit Penn State on March 27 and 28.

Penn State leads the charge to land cornerback Semajay Robinson with latest multi-day spring visit scheduled

While head coach Matt Campbell has yet to land a Class of 2027 recruit, there are a number of official spring/summer visits in the books.

With Robinson scheduled for a multi-day visit at the end of the month, Campbell has an opportunity to impress the cornerback before he makes his official visits to other teams starting at the end of May. Him deciding to quickly visit Penn State, though, is a clear sign that the Nittany Lions are leading the race in his recruitment.

Robinson has two official visits scheduled: Virginia on May 29 and Mississippi State on June 12. He previously took an official visit to Penn State on June 5, 2025. The Nittany Lions currently have an 89.2 percent chance of landing the cornerback thanks to assistant head coach Terry Smith's recruiting efforts. The Bulldogs are behind with a four percent chance and the Cavaliers have a 3.4 percent chance.

This is a quick turn of events given his update in January. According to Syracuse Orange on SI, Robinson had a great relationship building with Syracuse and its staff.

“At that point I knew this could be a place I could call home for the next three to four years,” Robinson said. "Syracuse is my No. 1 right now. I fell in love with the program.”

Flipping commitments and watching other programs emerge as prospects' top schools is not uncommon, especially in this day and age of recruiting. Due to this, Campbell can't pump the brakes on Robinson's recruitment.

Robinson is a three-star recruit from the Class of 2027, ranked 928th overall and 85th among cornerbacks, according to Rivals Industry ranking. He is the No. 99 recruit out of Florida.
