Penn State football to face Ole Miss in Peach Bowl (Date, Time, How to Watch)

Courtesy of losses to Ohio State and Michigan, the Penn State Nittany Lions weren’t agonizing over a spot in the College Football Playoff on selection Sunday, but the Nittany Lions bowl game fate was still decided. A New Year’s Six Bowl was the hope and Penn State got rewarded with a bid to the Peach Bowl.
Penn State checked in at No. 10 in the final CFP rankings and will face No. 11 Ole Miss. The Peach Bowl will be played on Saturday, December 30 at Noon ET in Atlanta.
The Nittany Lions finished as the third highest-ranked team in the Big Ten, but also behind No. 2 Washington and No. 8 Oregon, who will be joining the conference next season. It could be important to make a statement against a team from the other soon-to-be mega conference to close out the 2023 season.
The Nittany Lions will appear in a bowl game for the second straight season, and 53rd season overall. All-time Penn State is 31-19-2 in bowl games and won the Rose Bowl 35-21 last season. This will be Penn State’s first appearance in the Peach Bowl.

Penn State and Ole Miss are in very similar situations in their respective conferences. A step above most of the teams, but a step below the team’s that really matter. Both are trying to climb into that top tier, but it’s getting more and more crowded with conference realignment. This may have been their team’s best chance to win a conference championship before that gets even tougher next season.
