Is the next Kirby Smart out there to replace James Franklin?
By Josh Yourish
Sherrone Moore, Michigan OC
The Michigan offensive coordinator was the acting head coach this week agianst Penn State because of Jim Harbaugh’s suspension. Moore will likely be the head man on the sidelines the rest of the season and he’ll continue to prove that he’s ready to lead a big time team.
Moore, a former offensive line coach, leaned on his offensive line against Penn State. JJ McCarthy only attempt one pass in the second half and it drew a interference flag, so technically didn’t go as a pass attempt.
Michigan ran for 227 yards against Penn State’s defense which came into the game ranked first in the entire country against the run. His team was clearly tougher and that might be what it takes for Penn State to finally beat up the bullies in the Big Ten. Moore can bring that physicality to Happy Valley.
If Jim Harbaugh flees the NCAA for the NFL this offseason, then Moore appears to be the heir-apparent, but if Harbaugh returns to face the music, then Moore could be pried away from Ann Arbor for a different Big Ten head coaching job.
