Big Ten QB rankings, No. 9: Hudson Card (was 8)

  • Passing yards: 1,861
  • TD: 9 INT: 8
  • Comp: 57.8%
  • YPA: 6.1

There is talent there, that was clear at Texas and is still clear at Purdue, but there are just too many mistakes. Card leads the Big Ten in turnover-worthy plays with 18 and has eight interceptions.

The mistakes seemed excusable when he was throwing for more yardage, but in the past three weeks, he has thrown for 126, 100, and 144 yards respectively. He did face Ohio State and Michigan in the first and third games of that stretch, but he completed under 50% of his passes across those three games and Purdue has lost four straight.

Card is trying to lean on his legs a bit more with some increased rushing production, but it’s not offsetting his inaccuracy.
