Big Ten QB rankings, No. 3: Taulia Tagovailoa (was 2)

  • Passing yards: 2,486
  • TD: 21 INT: 7
  • Comp: 65.1%
  • YPA: 7.4

Tagovailoa had to drop behind Drew Allar after last week. In fairness to him, Allar didn’t have to face the No. 2 defense in the country, but Maryland’s offense was not great. The Terps averaged 4.0 yards per play and had -49 rushing yards, which includes sacks.

Through the air, Maryland actually had some success. Taulia threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. The game spiraled out of control late, but he managed to move the ball despite a non-existent run game.

The Big Ten’s leading passer just went up against a more talented team, but he battled to an impressive stat line. Allar was just better.
