Citrus Bowl (1-3)

1988: Clemson 35 Penn State 10

Penn State followed up the 1986 national championship with an 8-4 season that ended with a Citrus Bowl loss to Clemson. Penn State would miss out on a bowl entirely in 1988.

1994: Penn State 31 Tennessee 13

Penn State’s only Citrus Bowl victory came courtesy of Kerry Collins and Bobby Engram who was named the MVP of the game. Collins and Engram combined for the final touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter.

1998: Florida 21 Penn State 6

2019: Kentucky 27 Penn State 24

The 2019 Citrus Bowl was Trace McSorley’s final game at Penn State. He finished 17 of 33 for 246 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He was also the team’s leading rusher on the day with 75 yards and another score on 19 carries.
