Big Ten QB rankings No. 12: Athan Kaliakmanis, Minnesota

  • 923 passing yards
  • 6 TDs 6 interceptions
  • 53.4% completion
  • 5.7 yards per attempt

Kaliakmanis is averaging 132 passing yards per game and still hasn’t cleared 1,000 yards through the air despite starting all nine of Minnesota’s games so far. The Golden Gophers managed to beat Iowa last week, but are 121st in total offense, 120th in yards per ply, and 130th in passing offense.

He’s averaging 5.7 yards per attempt despite an average depth of target of 9.7. He’s attempted 19 passes over 20 yards in the air and completed seven of them for two touchdowns with just one interception. He has a big arm, he just doesn’t ever use it.

Minnesota’s offense is entirely inept and Kaliakmanis isn’t the only reason why, but he is a big reason why.
