Chance Robinson – 2024 WR (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson is verbally committed to Miami, but that was the case when he attended a camp at Penn State over the summer. The Nittany Lions were high on his list and it would be a big deal for James Franklin along with receivers coach Marques Hagans to flip him by signing day.

Penn State has three wide receivers signed in their 2024 class, Tyseer Denmark, Josiah Brown, and Peter Gonzales, all three stars. Robinson is the 23rd-ranked receiver in the class and 155th overall player in 2024.

Ohio State has commitments from Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 receiver, and Mylan Graham, the No. 5 receiver. It was clear that the Nittany Lions couldn’t match the Buckeyes’ playmakers and that gap is only getting wider unless Franklin can flip a player like Robinson.

Robinson loves a deep ball which would really help a Penn State offense that’s lacking a vertical element. He can win with speed and his release at the line of scrimmage or with impressive concentration and late hands at the catch point.

The Nittany Lions thrived with Chris Godwin, KJ Hamler, and Jahan Dotson winning on deep shots, but they’re lacking that element now.

Just last year, Penn State signed a safety, King Mack, from the same high school, St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale.
