Teams that Penn State Football have never played or beaten

Sun Belt Conference

This is another conference where Penn State football hasn’t faced the majority of the schools, owing to the fact that many of them have only moved up into the ranks of the FBS within the last decade. Arkansas State, Georgia Southern (the Lions have played Georgia State once), James Madison, Louisiana and Louisiana Monroe, Old Dominion, South Alabama, Texas State, and Troy have not previously fallen victim to the Lions.

Independents

The list of Independents has radically changed since I started watching college football 40 years ago and even within the past season. Last year there were seven teams that played an independent schedule and now there are only four schools with no conference affiliation for football (yes, I’m talking about you Notre Dame) and of those four, surprisingly the UConn Huskies haven’t played Penn State in the past.
