When it rains it pours is probably the best way to describe this recruiting wave that the Penn State football team has been on. Until this point, the Nittany Lions have only landed one wide receiver commit which came earlier this week, as Tyseer Denmark flipped his commitment from Oregon to Penn State Wednesday night. That sent off a chain reaction that led the additional wide receiver dominos to begin to fall.

Tonight, the number one player in New York State has made his commitment to the Nittany Lions. WR Josiah Brown is a 4-star prospect according to 247sports and he chose Penn State over Rutgers and Georiga.

Brown attends Holy Trinity Diocesan in Hicksville, New York and he has a 247sports composite ranking of .9146. He is listed as an athlete as he plays both sides of the ball in high school at wide receiver and safety, but at Penn State, he will play wide receiver.

The interesting thing about Brown is that he is a very talented Track & Field runner. He brings that speed to the football field. When you watch the tape, you can tell this guy just loves to play football. From the interactions with his teammates to watching him sacrifice his body during each play, he will fit in very well with Penn State’s culture.

Brown’s tape shows everything from catching a slant over the middle of the field, to blowing by a defender on a go route. He can run any route and he has a crazy amount of speed.

Penn State will look to continue to build the 2024 recruiting class as July 1st will be a day to keep an eye on. That is when 3-star DT De’Andre Cook will make his commitment, and he is currently being crystal balled to Penn State. The 2024 class continues to grow stronger.
