With the emergence of Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen during the 2022 season, it left Penn State running back Keyvone Lee the odd man out. So, this led to Lee entering the NCAA transfer portal back on January 13th, 2023 which he announced on his Twitter page.

Lee was thrown into action during the 2020 season for Penn State. Once Journey Brown was medically shut down before the season and Noah Cain was injured in the first game of the season Lee needed to play as a true freshman. During the 2020 season, he delivered a spark that no one expected. He ended the season with 438 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on 89 carries. He followed that up in the 2021 season with 530 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 103 carries.

He ended his Penn State career with 1062 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. His most memorable play came against Purdue in week 1 of the 2022 season with the clock ticking down, it was Lee who caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Sean Clifford.

Unfortunately for Lee, two other running backs came to Penn State and happened to have a better skillset than he has, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t be a valuable asset at his new school. In the right system, Lee will find success, especially as a receiving back.

It was first reported on Tuesday by 247sports’ Paul Jones that Keyvone Lee has officially enrolled in classes at Mississippi State. He visited the Bulldogs during their Spring Game in April and that visit led to his enrollment down south.

The best part for Lee is this will place him closer to home. He’s originally from St. Petersburg, Florida. Playing at Mississippi State will allow his family to attend games with ease and allow him to visit home more often. I’m so happy that Lee has found a new home, and I am grateful for the memories he created in State College, PA.
