Omari Evans – WR (So.)

There has been a lot of attention in the wide receiver room this off-season. Everyone questions what the third wide receiver slot for the Penn State football team will be, but I am someone that thinks, outside of KeAndre Lambert-Smith, the room is open.

I know Dante Cephas is inbound, but he will have an adjustment period, and we all know how James Franklin is when it comes to favoring vets to the system. Harrison Wallace is a guy that got a decent amount of playing time last year, and by all accounts, he has had a wonderful spring. However, we have yet to see a real statement from him.

The room seems to be pretty open and I believe Evans is one of those players that will force his way into a prominent role on the team. The young man turned in a stellar performance for the Blue-White game, as he finished with 5 receptions for 80 yards and 1 touchdown, on 7 targets.

You have to wonder if there is some serious chemistry brewing between Omari and the quarterbacks, as he was the favorite target for both Quarterbacks, Drew Allar and Beau Pribula. When it comes to his relationship with Drew Allar, they did hook up for their first-ever touchdown against Ohio last season.

Keep an eye on Evans this summer.
