Jaylen Reed enters his junior year at safety, he decided to switch his number from #7 to #1. Expect his role to increase this season. Penn State beat writer Audrey Snyder asked him about the number change, which he explained below.

Wide receiver, Liam Clifford enters his redshirt-sophomore season at Penn State and has changed his number from #82 to #2, which he wore during his high school days at St. Xavier.

The sophomore speedster wide receiver Omari Evans wore #18 last season, but in 2023 he will wear #5 most recently worn by former wide receivers Mitchell Tinsley and Jahan Dotson.

Finally, offensive lineman Caedan Wallace entering his redshirt senior season will change his number from #79 to #73. This is an interesting move considering he has worn that number throughout his time at Penn State. The position battle between him and sophomore Drew Shelton at right tackle will be a fun battle to keep an eye on this off-season.
