On Monday 4/4, Penn State forward Kebba Njie officially entered the NCAA transfer portal. I was super hopeful that this wouldn’t happen; however, it was expected.

The 6’10 forward just finished his freshman year with the Nittany Lions. He was a former ESPN Top 100 recruit coming out of high school.

During his freshman season, he made 26 starts averaging 14 minutes per game. He averaged 3.4 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds per game. With his long wingspan, he was also able to block 17 shots during the season (all stats per Penn State athletics).

It’s disappointing to see him enter the transfer portal because he was playing his best basketball at the end of the season. It felt like he was really establishing himself on both ends of the court. I wish him the best with his career, maybe new head coach Mike Rhoades can find a way to convince him to return to Penn State.
