Penn State basketball will have their first appearance in the NCAA tournament since the 2011 season, where they were defeated by the Temple Owls in the first round.

On Thursday 3/16, the Penn State basketball team will play their first round game of the 2023 NCAA tournament against Texas A&M.

The Penn State basketball team is coming off a very strong performance in the Big Ten tournament, where they made it to the Big Ten Championship game. However, they fell short to Purdue 67-65 in an incredible effort..

It feels like this team has really found their stride at the best possible moment. They are hopeful that they can keep that momentum up on the biggest stage of them all.

If you are not able to make it to the game in person, here is how you can watch the game from home.

10th Seed Penn State (22-13, 10-10) vs. 7th Seed Texas A&M (25-9, 15-3)

Tipoff: 9:55 P.M EST at the Wells Fargo Arena (IA)

Matchup to Watch:

Penn State basketball’s Senior Point Guard Jalen Pickett is averaging 17.9 PPG, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game. He needs to be at his best, aggressively backing down defenders to create space on the floor. There have been moments this season where the offense has gone cold, which has effected the team. He needs to be looking to attack at every opportunity against Texas A&M.

For Texas A&M their star is Sophomore Guard Wade Taylor IV. He is averaging 16.5 PPG to go along with 4 assists per game as well. Penn State will have their hands full guarding Taylor.

The Nittany Lions will need a big game from Pickett, Seth Lundy, Cam Wynter, and Andrew Funk in order to carry on their season.
