1.  Malik McClain / Harrison Wallace III

Malik McClain is a junior transfer wide receiver from Florida State University. He joins the Penn State Football team in search for a larger role where I think he will find just that. Now, it won’t be handed to him as there are other talented WR’s ready to fend him off, but he comes with experience as well. In his career, he has racked up 33 catches for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns. He has a longshot of becoming WR #1 but the advantage he has is that he is already on campus. He is active in winter workouts and will practice with the team during spring ball. Be sure to look for his impact in the Blue / White Scrimmage.

Finally, Harrison Wallace III is in the mix as well. The Redshirt Sophomore saw his first glance at the field last season. He had 19 catches for 273 yards and 1 touchdown. He will continue to make big time plays for Penn State, and he has shown off his vertical jumping ability on more than one occasion. Now, I think he too has a long shot of becoming WR #1 in 2023, however that doesn’t mean he won’t have a major impact on this team.

Regardless of who wins the job, the others I have mentioned will all see the field plenty this season. The larger question is, who will the go-to person be for Drew Allar and how successful will they be in the spotlight?
