QB1: Sophomore – Drew Allar

The former 5 star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class will get his chance to take over as the starting quarterback this fall for Penn State Football. Last season, Allar shot up the depth chart between spring ball and fall camp. During the season opener against Purdue, Allar found himself thrown into the game due to a Sean Clifford injury. He looked poised, made a few good throws and made a mistake or two. From there, he played in multiple games throughout the season, in all of those games he entered late in the 2nd half. Allar ended his true freshman season completing 35 of 60 pass attempts for 344 yards, and 4 touchdowns. He also had 52 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown. I’m sure he will make mistakes and go through growing pains this fall; however, it’s his pocket presence, arm talent, and size that makes me excited to see what he can bring to the table this fall.
