Looking ahead to March

The Nittany Lions’ remaining dual meet schedule is relatively light to finish up the 2022-2023 regular season. They travel to Ohio State (2/3), Indiana (2/5), and Rutgers (2/10) before traveling back home to tackle Maryland (2/12) and Clarion (2/19).

And based on what Penn State fans saw in the Iowa dual, there’s still a lot of work to do on the team for the next month.

Beau Bartlett and Alex Facundo might need to try and open up their offense more to gain the confidence they need going into the Big Ten Championships and the NCAA Championships.

And Shayne Van Ness and Levi Haines need to continue to improve as there wrestling could be tightened up in some areas.

But make no mistake about three things.

Firstly, Roman Bravo-Young, Carter Starocci, Aaron Brooks, Max Dean, and Greg Kerkvliet are absolutely locked in and these guys are some of the best to ever don the blue and white singlet.

Secondly, there’s no question Beau Bartlett, Shayne Van Ness, Levi Haines, and Alex Facundo are top tier wrestlers. None. For them, they just need to get a little better every day and things will start to fall into place.

And lastly, Cael Sanderson is still the head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions. And no matter what you saw on Friday night and no matter what you would have liked to see, he ALWAYS has his guys peaking at the right time.

And I for one will never question this.
