In his two seasons in Happy Valley, Brian has suited up for the Nittany Lions in 20 career matches. He saw a lot of action his true freshmen campaign as he took part in the Clarion Open, Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open, David Lehman Open, and Mat Town Open.

So far this season, Borden has completed in three matches in the 2022 Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open.

Prior to Penn State

Prior to landing on the University Park campus, Borden competed at Minico High School in his home state of Idaho. There Brian was a four time place winner in the Idaho State Championships with a sixth place finish his freshman year, a third place finish his junior year, a runner up finish his senior season, and won a state title his sophomore year.

Borden was the captain of his wrestling team all four years and he was an excellent student in the classroom as he graduated high school with honors.

Brian was also a three time Renaissance Student of the month recipient, he was named the 2016 Student of the Year, and he was the student body Vice President. To add to his collection of trophies, Brian was named the First Federal Academic All Star Winner in 2018.

Away from wrestling, Borden enjoys grilling, barbequing, and smoking beef. He’s even taken part in several beef competitions over the years.

Brian also spent a large portion of his youth in scouts and he was eventually awarded the Eagle Scout award. If you’ve ever known someone who received an Eagle Scout award, or if you completed it yourself, then you know how much time and effort it takes to accomplish this amazing feat.
