Three needs Penn State Football can still fill through the transfer portal
Another Wide Receiver
Adding Dante Cephas was a big for Penn State Football.
Cephas was one of the more productive wide receivers in the MAC the past two seasons and is a veteran presence in a young receivers room. With Washington and Tinsley off to the NFL, this was a move the Nittany Lions needed to make.
But why should the staff stop here?
Putting as much talent around young quarterback Drew Allar as possible should be the top priority for the staff this offseason. When trying to compete with the high scoring offenses of Ohio State and Michigan, Penn State needs to be able to put up points in big games.
With Penn State losing two staters at wide receiver, bringing in two starting caliber transfers wouldn’t hurt at all.
While no one currently in the portal is currently as impactful as Cephas is projected to be, there are multiple serviceable wide outs still out there.
This group includes Kyle Ford from USC, Malik McClain from Florida State, Romello Brinson from Miami, Eddie Lewis from Memphis and Gary Bryant Jr. from USC.
Adding one of these guys to go along with Cephas would be big for Penn State in 2023.
