Three wide receivers still available for Penn State Football to target in the portal
3. Arland Bruce IV (Iowa)
One of the top ranked receivers in the portal is Iowa transfer Arland Bruce IV.
While Bruce has not reported a Penn State offer to date, it’s possible that could change with the Nittany Lions recently missing out on a few other targets.
Bruce wasn’t overly productive at Iowa, but that may have to do more with Iowa’s offense than Bruce’s skills. (See Charlie Jones) In two seasons with the Hawkeyes, Bruce has caught 44 passes for 396 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 116 career rushing yards with four touchdowns on the ground.
Additionally, Bruce saw time as a punt returner in 2022. He only averaged 6.5 yards per return on 19 returns, but considering Washington and Tinsley were the main two punt returners for Penn State in 2022, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in someone who has experience doing the nerve-wracking job.
It may be too late for the Nittany Lions to get involved with Bruce. It’s also possible they are involved and are keeping it on the low. It’s also possible the staff doesn’t see him as a fit.
With that said, Bruce is an intriguing option to consider if things start to go South.
