Sean Wang

Year: Redshirt Freshman
Weight: 141
Major: Division of Undergraduate Studies
Hometown: Great Neck, N.Y.

Penn State Career

Sean landed in Happy Valley in the fall of 2021 and he was able to get into the action his true freshman year.

Wang took part in the Clarion Open, David Lehman Open, and Mat Town Open where he competed in eight total matches at 141.

So far this season he hasn’t suited up for any competitions.

Prior to Penn State

In high school, Sean was a four year letterman at Greak Neck South High School. He started on the varsity team his freshman season and ended up placing in the sectionals his sophomore and junior seasons.

Unfortunately his senior wrestling season was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Away from the mat Sean is an avid fan of UFC and his favorite fighter just so happens to be his coach from back home.

“My favorite fighter is Gregor Gillespie. Just because he’s my coach back home. And he’s a good guy and he’s a good wrestler.”
