Penn State Football is just a few days away from the highly anticipated Rose Bowl matchup with Utah

The No. 11 ranked Penn State football team is closing in on its contest with No. 8 Utah in the last non-playoff Rose Bowl for the foreseeable future.

The Nittany Lions used a 10-2 record and a little luck to get the Big Ten Rose Bowl berth without winning the conference. Utah did win the Pac-12 after going just 9-3 in the regular season. The Utes regrouped and wrecked USC 47-24 in the Pac-12 Championship game.

This will be the first time these two schools face off on the football field, and no better place to do so than the Rose Bowl. This should be one of the more evenly matched bowl games as Utah plays a lot like a Big Ten team.

Vegas is giving the Utes the slight nod, as they are 2.5-point favorites. The Nittany Lions will not go down without a fight though. Penn State avoided a mass opt out situation and is expected to get a few key players, including left tackle Olu Fashanu, back from injury.

The staff at Victory Bell Rings has submitted their picks and here’s what we think will go down on Monday evening.
