1. Offensive Tackle

Penn State football signed three offensive line during the early signing period.

That group includes 5-star Jven Williams, top 50 recruit Alex Birchmeier and 3-star Alex Donkoh. Originally it looked like Williams and Birchmeier would start on the interior and Donkoh at tackle, but James Franklin said on Wednesday that it would be the opposite.

It seems unlikely that Birchmeier stays at tackle. He was the No. 1 rated interior lineman in the country for the 2023 cycle and will likely return there for the majority of his career.

Penn State is set at the interior offensive line positions regardless of what happens with these three recruits. As long as two stay there, the depth the team has for the next two seasons is sufficient.

The Nittany Lions could use more help at tackle though.

One name to monitor is 4-star Chimdy Onoh from Maryland. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive tackle was committed to Old Dominion, but a huge senior season caught the eyes of bigger programs and he decided to decommit.

Penn State was one of the teams that recently offered Onoh.

With him not signing during the early period, the Nittany Lions will have a chance to get him to Happy Valley in January and try to secure his signature in February.
