Flip ’em

Penn State Football dealt with its fair share of decommitments in 2023, and there could be another on the way with Hussey.

With that said, the Nittany Lions were able to make this class as strong as it is thanks to doing some flipping of their own.

Five Penn State signees were committed to other schools at one point in their recruitment.

  • Elliot Washington- Alabama
  • Andrew Rappleyea- Michigan
  • Kaveion Keys- North Carolina
  • Mason Robinson- Northwestern
  • Jaxon Smolik- Tulane

All five of these players are key members of Penn State’s class and could make a serious impact in the years to come.

Being able to do this proves one thing about this coaching staff; they do not give up.

Even at first if they are not successful, the staff stays on a recruit that they want and do everything possible to make sure that recruit signs with Penn State.

It also says a lot about Penn State and its atmosphere. All five of these signees had visited Happy Valley at least once before flipping to Penn State. It’s clear the visits go well, and recruits do like Penn State as a place and school.
