Penn State Football is wrapping up a second consecutive successful recruiting class

Wednesday was a big day for Penn State Football, as it signed 22 commits from its 2023 recruiting class and officially made them Nittany Lions.

This class was seen as a critical one for James Franklin as he needed a strong follow up to his 2022 class, which ranked No. 6 nationally. While the 2023 class will not finish in the top ten, barring a miracle run between now and National Signing Day in February, this class got the job done.

Penn State does have 23 members of this class, but Conrad Hussey is yet to sign, and his situation seems fluid and could go any way.

Here are the 22 recruits to sign with Penn State Football today:

  • 5-star OL Jven Williams
  • 4-star OL Alex Birchmeier
  • 4-star LB Tony Rojas
  • 4-star S King Mack
  • 4-star CB Elliot Washington
  • 4-star TE Andrew Rappleyea
  • 4-star DE Jameial Lyons
  • 4-star S DaKaari Nelson
  • 4-star LB Ta’Mere Robinson
  • 4-star LB Kaveion Keys
  • 4-star TE Joey Schlaffer
  • 4-star WR Carmelo Taylor
  • 4-star RB London Montgomery
  • 4-star TE/ATH Mathias Barnwell
  • 4-star CB Zion Tracy
  • 3-star DE Joseph Mupoyi
  • 3-star OL Anthony Donkoh
  • 3-star S/CB Lamont Payne
  • 3-star DE Mason Robinson
  • 3-star QB Jaxon Smolik
  • 3-star DL Tyriq Blanding
  • 3-star RB Cameron Wallace

The class currently ranks 13th in the national rankings.

This is an exciting time for Penn State fans, as this class could be what gets the Nittany Lions over the hump and into the Playoff.

Here’s some main thoughts and takeaways from a successful early signing day for Penn State Football.
