Penn State Football still waiting on one commit to sign
Updated at 3:43 p.m. Wednesday afternoon
Penn State Football will attempt to secure the signature of every 2023 commit on Wednesday
Penn State Football had a busy morning, signing 22 of its 23 commits from the 2023 recruiting class, officially making them Nittany Lions.
The lone commit to not sign his national letter of intent is Conrad Hussey.
Hussey is a 4-star safety from St. Thomas Acquinas in Florida. He has been committed to the Nittany Lions since April.
Hussey himself has done some recruiting for Penn State during this cycle. His high school teammate, and fellow defensive back, King Mack committed to Penn State over the summer. This morning, Mack officially became a Nittany Lion, Hussey did not.
Marcus Benjamin of Rivals is now reporting that Hussey will not make a decision today. He could still sign in the next two days or drag out his recruitment until February.
Originally, Hussey was supposed to make his decision tonight at 7 p.m. according to Anthony Yero of 305 Sports.
Hussey not signing today could be considered a bad thing for the Nittany Lions, but it’s better that Hussey makes sure he makes the correct decision for himself and his family. With there being another chance to sign, there’s no reason to rush a life-changing decision.
As mentioned before, Hussey has been on visits to Florida State and Miami in recent weeks. Both in-state schools have a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail and would like to add Hussey to that.
Keep an eye out for more news on Hussey in the coming days.
Penn State Football currently has the No. 13 recruiting class in the nation halfway through the Early Signing Day.
