Washington isn’t the only star Penn State football player who won’t be playing in the Rose Bowl, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is the other.

Between Porter’s opt put and Jeffery Davis Jr. announcing his intentions to enter the portal, Penn State is down to five scholarship corners for the Rose Bowl.

They include projected starters Kalen King and Johnny Dixon, nickel Daquan Hardy, Marquis Wilson and true freshman Cam Miller.

Miller becomes an important part of the defense now, because he is now the next man up if there’s an injury to one of the two starters.  Miller has played a lot this year, appearing in ten games and recording five tackles. His redshirt is officially burned.

The staff must see a lot of potential in Miller considering he was given the green light for the season. Even Porter was redshirted his true freshman season.

These extra bowl practices, along with an increased role, will be massive for Miller’s development. He is likely going to be CB3 next season behind King and Dixon, the Nittany Lions need him ready to go in 2023.
