Previous: 8th. Cornhuskers . 8. team. 810. .

Dual Rank: 15
Record: 1-2
Ranked Wrestlers: 8
125 No. 9 Liam Cronin
133 No. 33 Boo Dryden
141 No. 9 Brock Hardy
157 No. 2 Peyton Robb
165 No. 24 Bubba Wilson
174 No. 2 Mikey Labriola
184 No. 12 Lenny Pinto
197 No. 21 Silas Allred

On paper you would think this Nebraska team should be higher up in the Power Rankings. And while the Cornhuskers do have some top-end talent, they are saddled with holes in their starting 10.

We’ll start with the good so far for Nebraska.

Peyton Robb (157) and Mikey Labriola (174) have been amazing and both guys have yet to drop a match on the season. Liam Cronin (125) appears to have found some good form late in his career and Brock Hardy (141) is starting to turn some heads with being ranked in the top 10 to go along with a 14-2 record.

Speaking of Hardy, he had himself quite the tournament in the CKLV. Brock handed losses to No. 19 Jesse Vasquez (Arizona State), No. 20 Cole Mattin (Michigan), No. 12 Ryan Jack (NC State), and No. 10 Cael Happel (Iowa State). Talk about a tough bracket.

And now onto the bad for the Cornhuskers.

I already touched on the holes Nebraska has at 149 and 285 and along with some under performances at 133, 165, and 184 have doomed the Cornhuskers in their 1-2 dual record.

Another thing that’s hurt them is they have yet to field a full lineup for one reason or another. This proved pivotal in their loss to North Dakota State (20-16), their closer than expected win against Army (25-9), and their loss to NC State (23-10).

But, Nebraska did win the team title in the Navy Classic on November 19th and they took home the team title in the CKLV. Which is always a difficult task. So maybe it’s starting to all click for the Cornhuskers leading into the Big Ten portion of their schedule.

Nebraska has their eyes set on avenging an earlier “Dakota” loss with an upcoming road tilt against No. 22 South Dakota State on December 18th.
