Penn State Football Recruiting: Here’s what’s left to do in the 2023 class
1. Land Kaveion Keys
Linebacker Kaveion Keys surprised some with his decommitment from North Carolina earlier this month.
This was seen as good news for Penn State Football, considering the Nittany Lions were considered a runner up for Keys in his original recruitment over the summer.
With room remaining in the class, Penn State is firmly back in the picture with Keys and would love to add the 4-star to the class. The Nittany Lions have had a strong presence in the state of Virginia this cycle, with five current commits from the state. Keys would be commit No. 6 from Virginia.
Landing Keys alongside 4-stars Tony Rojas and Ta’Mere Robinson would give Penn State one of the best linebacker hauls in the country for this cycle. It would also deepen the linebacker room and put more talent around standout freshman Abdul Carter.
With a week until the early signing day, it’s time for Penn State to close on Keys. Allowing him to stay unsigned and go all the way to National Signing Day in February would likely be bad news for the Nittany Lions. It would allow other schools to get into the picture with Keys, if they had space remaining.
