Virginia Cornerback Fentrell Cypress

Fentrell Cypress is the prize of the early transfer portal period. Cypress is an All-ACC awarded cornerback who will be able to pick where he wants to play next. It is a tall task for Penn State to get in the running for Cypress, but with the success of Joey Porter Jr. and Kalen King, you have a model to point to for success.

North Carolina Cornerback Tony Grimes

If the name sounds familiar, you’re not alone. North Carolina cornerback Tony Grimes was Penn State’s top target at the position in 2020. At the time, Tony Grimes was a five-star Cornerback and ranked as high as third best at his position. Tony Grimes would be the dream transfer target for Penn State. He’s from Virginia, where Penn State Football has been hot in recruiting, and he would instantly fill Joey Porter Jr’s role. Grimes is a more realistic target than Cypress and you can bet that Penn State coaches will be all over this recruiting pitch.
