Penn State Football Needs to Capitalize on West Virginia’s Uncertainty

Transfer Portal
As always when a coach is on the hot seat, the transfer portal is a great way for recruits to reevaluate their current situation and make the best decision for their athletic and academic future. With the recruiting overlap, there have been several players that Penn State has narrowly missed out on. The lack of confidence in Neal Brown opens the door for past relationships to be renewed and see if Penn State is in their best interest.
The class of 2019, four-star recruit was heavily sought after by the Penn State staff. This was at a time when Penn State was struggling to bring in highly ranked Offensive Line recruits. Nester originally committed to Virginia Tech out of high school and then transferred to West Virginia in 2021. Penn State is always looking for more Offensive Line talent and Doug Nester would fit the needs of the Nittany Lions.
The class of 2020, three-star recruit visited Penn State during his initial recruitment. Penn State finished in his top three schools along with North Carolina. Sean Martin is a big Defensive Lineman measuring 6-5 and 280 lbs. Penn State needs to beef up on the defensive line to compete with Michigan in the future and Martin could be that piece.
Kaden Prather, a former four-star recruit from Maryland could be an enticing player to pursue. Prather is currently averaging five catches and 47 yards a game. With Penn State facing the possibility of losing its top two receivers Mitchell Tinsley and Parker Washington, Penn State could be in the market for a Wide Receiver.
