1. Wide Receiver

Penn State Football could possibly lose two starting wide receivers from 2022.

We know that Mitchell Tinsley is out of eligibility and will be moving on, but junior Parker Washington could join him as well.

While Washington’s recent injury could lead to him coming back to Penn State, there’s still the need to add depth.

Junior KeAndre Lambert-Smith should be back for his senior season, while Liam Clifford and Harrison Wallace will be in their third year. Rounding out the group is two freshmen who saw action this season in Omari Evans and Kaden Saunders.

If Washington returns, this will be a solid group, but Penn State needs to take another step forward. Trying to keep up with the absurd amount of talent Ohio State has on offense needs to be a priority for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State could use a big body, jump ball type receiver as well as a speedster who can take the top off the defense. Lambert-Smith and Wallace are currently the two tallest contributing wide receivers at 6-foot-1. Maybe Penn State can try to add former Oregon Duck Dont’e Thorton, who just entered the portal.

A one-time Penn State commit, Thorton is listed at 6-foot-5. His prior relationship with the Nittany Lions could help them get Thorton to Happy Valley.

With Drew Allar taking over at quarterback next season, the staff should try to put as much talent as possible around their promising, young quarterback.
