The Penn State Wrestling Team throttled all comers in their recent action in the Black Knight Open and the NWCA All-Star Classic

Penn State Wrestling had a busy week of action, leading to plenty of headlines and stories to cover.

Various Nittany Lion wrestlers were on the road recently as they competed in both the Black Knight Open on November 20th in West Point, NY, and the NWCA All-Star Classic on November 22nd in Austin, TX.

Needless to say (but I’ll say it anyway!), the Penn State wrestlers put on a performance that would even make the Saudi Arabia National Football Team blush. At this point, could Cael Sanderson and company do anything that would surprise you?

Greg Kerkvliet could bench press a 2003 Chevy Cavalier and Aaron Brooks could sprint to the top of Mount Nittany with Levi Haines and David Evans on his back and no one would bat an eyelash. What a time to be a fan of Penn State Wrestling.

The Nittany Lions sent 13 wrestlers up to West Point on Sunday to compete in the Black Knight Open. And of those 13 wrestlers, 11 placed, eight made it to the finals, five were crowned champions, and one was awarded the Outstanding Wrestler (O.W.) of the entire tournament.

Then in last evening’s NWCA All-Star Classic in Austin, Penn State had three grapplers set to do battle in some potential NCAA Finals matchups. And let’s just say the Nittany Lions didn’t disappoint in the incredible action.

Let’s first start with the action that took place in the Black Knight Open.
