2. Target the tight ends

Penn State Football has one of the deepest and most talented tight end rooms in the country.

Brenton Strange, who will be playing on Sundays next year, leads the way with 30 catches for 345 yards and three touchdowns. Right behind him is Theo Johnson, who has 16 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Warren also has two touchdowns this season.

While Strange already in a big part of the offense, Johnson and Warren can be in line for increased roles in these last two games. Johnson has the speed and athleticism to line up out wide and make plays in space. He is a tough matchup for defensive backs and that can lead to big plays for the offense.

Warren is also quite versatile. Penn State has used him as a wildcat quarterback before, mostly on the goal line and in short yardage situations.

The versatility and athleticism of this group allows for all three of them to be on the field at the same time and keep defenses guessing. It helps that all three contribute in the run game as well. Strange especially has improved his blocking and is a big part of the resurgence of the Nittany Lions rushing attack.

While none of them are as shifty or as good of a route runner as Washington, they still do things that help elevate the Penn State passing game.
