2. The recruits

We often discuss how much recruiting Penn State football does in Maryland.

It is an important region to the Nittany Lions recruiting efforts and that isn’t changing anytime soon.

While the 2023 cycle is yet to net any results in Maryland for Penn State, the 2024 cycle is looking very promising.

Among the targets for Penn State in Maryland in 2024 are two edge rushers in Jaylen Harvey and Dominic Nichols. Both are 4-stars, and both are players both Maryland and Penn State want.

If Chop Robinson has a big day on Saturday, these two recruits, and many others, are going to see a former Maryland player crush his old team in a Penn State uniform. They will remember that a top-of-the-line talent like Robinson, who is from Maryland, felt the need to make the move away from Maryland and to Penn State in order to maximize his potential.

Penn State’s staff will certainly use the Robinson case in their recruitment of these prospects and point to the fact that Robinson became a star at Penn State after originally choosing Maryland.

A big performance from Chop Robinson on Saturday will not only give Penn State a win on the field but could give the Nittany Lions a few wins on the recruiting trail as well.
