. . . Boilermakers . 10. team. 848

Dual Rank: NR
Record: 0-0
Ranked Wrestlers: 4
125 No. 8 Matt Ramos
141 No. 11 Parker Filius
157 No. 13 Kendall Coleman
197 No. 10 Thomas Penola

The Boilermakers started off the 2022-2023 season with a bang as they took home the team title in the 2022 Clarion Open this past Sunday. Purdue also crowned six individual champions and had 12 place-finishers.

Both Matt Ramos (125) and Parker Filius (141) took home outright titles and Dustin Norris, Jacob Macatangay, Kendall Coleman, and Nate Camiscioli all shared titles as each pair were set to square off in the finals. I guess the only instance in which a tie is really a win happens in the Clarion Open.

Purdue is set to trot out a pair of talented redshirt freshman this season in Jacob Null (174) and Ben Vanadia (184). Adding these two onto a team full of seasoned veterans with the likes of Parker Filius, Kendall Coleman, and Thomas Penola is the only reason I have them a spot higher than Rutgers.

Make no mistake about it, the Boilermakers are going to have a rough season. They simply don’t have the fire power to contend with any of the top Big Ten wrestling teams.

Purdue gets their dual meet season rolling when they host Rider on November 13th.
