4. 4-star DE Jaylen Harvey (2024)

Not many recruits have been to Penn State more this season than Jaylen Harvey.

The 4-star edge player attends Quince Orchard in Gaithersburg, MD. This is the same school as current Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson.

One of Harvey’s notable offers, along with Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee, is Maryland. The Terps will fight hard to keep Harvey in the state. This is where Robinson comes in, as he played his first season at Maryland. The Nittany Lions can use Robinson as another recruiter in their efforts to land Harvey.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Harvey was at both the White Out against Minnesota and the last home game against Ohio State. Penn State has to feel good about its chances of landing Harvey considering it’s not often that uncommitted recruits visit the same school back-to-back weeks.

At his size, it’s still unclear if Penn State sees Harvey as a linebacker or a defensive end. The Nittany Lions have made it work with smaller defensive ends before, most recently Shaka Toney.

While his position of the field may be up in the air, his feelings on Penn State might not be. Considering his frequent visits and having Robinson is his ear, there’s a lot going right here for Penn State.
