All of the talk surrounding the Penn State program this week has been about which quarterback should start for the Nittany Lions. On one hand, you have the sixth-year Sean Clifford. Who is coming off a very disappointing performance against Ohio State. On the other hand, the five-star quarterback of the future, Drew Allar, is waiting to make his first start.

James Franklin is loyal to his players to a fault. He has given zero indication that a quarterback change is in the cards. He is also a coach that knows that any and all information is valuable. If he were to make a change, the last people he is going to tell is the media.

There is an argument to be made for both Clifford and Allar to start. Drew Allar is the future and Sean Clifford is the guy that couldn’t get it done against Michigan or Ohio State.

Bold Prediction #3

Sean Clifford and Drew Allar will split time as Quarterback

Sean Clifford is going to start. James Franklin is not the type of coach that will just tell Clifford that it’s over. With the future in mind, I think Coach Franklin will make a concerted effort to get Drew Allar meaningful playing time. I don’t know if we will see a 50-50 split, but something closer to 70-30 would be a step in the right direction as Penn State Football looks toward 2023.
