Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen have been as impactful as you could hope for from true freshmen. Combined, Singleton and Allen have over 1,100 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns. Add in the possibility of Keyvone Lee returning and Penn State has the best trio of backs in the country.

Indiana has struggled this season on rush defense. The Hoosiers give up over 150 yards a game on the ground and will be a welcome sight for a Penn State team looking to own the trenches.

Keeping the weather predictions in mind, Penn State must be successful on the ground to win this game. It won’t matter if Sean Clifford or Drew Allar is in at quarterback. The downfield passing game will be very difficult to execute.

This game has all the makings of an old-school, three-yards, and a cloud-of-dust game plan.

With that said, here is Bold Prediction #2.

Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen each finish with over 100 scrimmage yards.

The game plan for Penn State is going to be establish the run game and a short passing game. Both bode well for the freshmen playmakers to get the ball early and often. It would be great to see both get backs involved using screen and swing passes. Both Singleton and Allen just need the ball in space to break a big play.
