Defense. Defense. Defense.

Penn State linebacker Abdul Carter (11) sacks Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud for an 8-yard loss in the second quarter against Ohio State at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, in State College. The Nittany Lions fell to the Buckeyes, 44-31.Hes Dr 102922 Psuosu

The Indiana Hoosiers struggle to do anything well on the offensive side of the ball. They are only averaging 24 points per game. Their offense is not explosive, and like most struggling teams, they have Quarterback issues.

Connor Bazelak, a transfer from Missouri, was brought in to solidify the quarterback position after Michael Penix Jr. left the program. Things have not gone well. Bazelak has been sacked 23 times and thrown nine interceptions in eight games.

On top of the quarterback issues, Indiana has no rushing attack. They average only 80 yards a game on 2.7 yards per carry. Very Reminiscent of Penn State’s rushing attack last season.

Armed with all of Indianas’ shortcomings, here is Bold Prediction #1.

The Penn State defense will pitch a shutout.

With the windy conditions and Indiana’s inability to run the ball, it’s an easy assumption that Indiana will struggle to put up many points. If the Nittany Lion defense can hold Indiana scoreless, it would mark the second consecutive shutout against the Hoosiers. A tall task, but it would make the 2020 loss seem even flukier.
