Penn State Football Recruiting: Who will be the quarterback in the 2024 class?
4. 3-star KJ Jackson
The tallest quarterback on this list is 6-foot-3, 215-pound KJ Jackson from Montgomery, AL.
Rated as the No. 27 quarterback in the 247 Sports Composite, 247 Sports itself is higher on Jackson, rating him as the No. 16 quarterback.
Right now, Penn State is Jackson’s most notable offer. Some other offers include Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss and UCF. Despite the offer list seeming thin, powerhouse programs seem to be monitoring Jackson. He was at Georgia for a visit back in September. If the defending champs are taking a look at him, so should Penn State.
Jackson was at Penn State a couple times over the summer, most notable at Lasch Bash at the end of July. With him living in Alabama, it obviously isn’t easy for him to get to Penn State on game weekends considering he has his own game on Fridays.
Even though Alabama is home to Auburn and Alabama, Penn State football has done fine recruiting down there. The Nittany Lions landed Harrison Wallace in the 2021 class, and currently have 4-star safety DaKaari Nelson committed in the 2023 class. The Nittany Lions did have another 2023 commit from Alabama in Tomarrion Parker, but he decommitted.
Jackson may sit and wait for more offers, considering his ranking seems to be on the rise. Remember, Drew Allar was 3-star when the Nittany Lions offered him. Mike Yurcich does well with the diamonds in the rough and Jackson may be another one.
Neither side may be in a hurry to close this one down, but if the Nittany Lions push, they could lock down Jackson.
Confidence level: 8/10
