2. 4-star OT Kevin Heywood (2024)

Penn State football could always use more offensive tackles and one of the top ones in the 2024 cycle just happens to be in the state.

Kevin Heywood from Warminster, PA is rated as the No. 19 tackle in the country for the 2024 class. He is listed at 6-foot-7 and 280 pounds; keep in mind he is just a high school junior.

Heywood, like Mupoyi, was in attendance for the White Out game. That of course is a big deal in Penn State’s attempt to land Heywood.

A week after this visit though, Heywood attended Michigan, meaning this battle doesn’t look to be far from over. The Wolverines look to be the toughest competition for the Nittany Lions in this recruitment. His other offers include Boston College, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, Pitt, Rutgers and UConn.

Most juniors are not in a rush to commit at this point, but if Penn State can get Heywood back on campus for one of the two remaining home games, it may be able to seal the deal.

Trying to lock up Heywood before more schools start to poke around should be a top priority for the Nittany Lions, considering how badly they need offensive tackle depth.
