The fate of Penn State football’s season will be decided this Saturday against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Penn State football will face its toughest challenge of the season this Saturday against Ohio State.

The 6-1 Nittany Lions need a win against the 7-0 Buckeyes in order to stay alive for the Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff. A loss would officially end those two goals, although not many fans expected those goals to be achieved this year.

Penn State football will benefit from the fact that this game is at home. In the last four meetings of these teams at Beaver Stadium, Penn State is just 1-3, but one of those losses was in overtime, another was by one point and the other had no fans in the stands.

Penn State always plays Ohio State tough at home, no matter how good the Buckeyes are.

Ohio State is led by quarterback C.J. Stroud and an offense that averages 49.6 points per game. Just a ridiculous number this late in the season for a Big Ten team. The defense, which was seen as a weakness last year, has also greatly improved. The Buckeyes only give up 14.8 points per game, but they’ve definitely played more defensive minded teams than offensive ones.

Point is this Ohio State team may be the best Ryan Day has ever had. Upsetting this team will not be easy, but Penn State may have the tools to do so. We’re going to look at three players you should keep an eye on Saturday, as their performances may be the winning formula for Penn State football.
