Week Eight of the college football season is in the books and the usual suspects returned to dominance in the Big Ten.

With the defending Big Ten champion Michigan Wolverines on bye, teams like Ohio State and Penn State looked to make a statement, and they sure did that.

There were only five matchups between Big Ten teams this week, with four teams having a bye. While some games were blowouts, a couple others were tight contests that came down to the fourth quarter.

The East is starting to show its power as well. Three teams in the division are currently ranked inside the top 15, with five teams overall in the division having a winning record. The West only has one team ranked and three with a winning record.

Week Nine will once again feature only five games, with Penn State vs Ohio State and Michigan vs Michigan State as the headliners. Before getting there though, here’s where things stand after eight weeks of action in the Big Ten.
