Week seven of the college football season is in the books and the Big Ten is starting to see separation between the contenders and pretenders.

Michigan stole the show in the Big Ten this week with a 41-17 victory over Penn State.

It was a statement win for the Wolverines and left the Nittany Lions walking away with more questions than answers.

Elsewhere, Minnesota and Maryland dealt with injuries to their starting quarterbacks. The Terps were able to overcome the loss, the Gophers were not.

Illinois may be the story of the year in the Big Ten and the Fighting Illini look like the heavy favorite to represent the West in Indianapolis.

It’s shaping up to be another fun season in the Big Ten. There will be a couple more intriguing matchups in Week Eight as well. Before we get there though, let’s take a look at the power rankings as we pass the midway point of the 2022 season.
