Reason for optimism #4 – road tested

Has Penn State played a team as good as Michigan yet? Of course not. They have, however, been tested twice on the road already this season, which can only help them as they roll into The Big House against one of the nation’s best teams.

Although they have plenty of veterans all over the field on both sides of the ball, there are plenty of young players who start and/or contribute for the Nittany Lions. However, those young players have already gotten a taste of big-time road matchups and hostile environments, so they should be well equipped to handle this one as well.

There’s really not a whole lot to this one. These Nittany Lions have been there, done that in terms of hostile environments, so home field for Michigan shouldn’t make a difference.
