OT Stanton Ramil

Penn State missed on its top two remaining offensive tackle targets in Evan Link and Stanton Ramil over the summer.

With Link committed to Michigan, it would be incredibly difficult to flip him. Ramil on the other hand, is committed to struggling Michigan State.

Ramil, a 4-star star from Alabama, is originally from upstate New York but moved to Alabama during the pandemic so he could play football. He took an official visit to Penn State back in June, but ultimately picked the Spartans.

Michigan State’s season has not gone as planned. After going 11-2 last year, the Spartans are 2-4 and still have multiple tough games to play including against Michigan and Penn State. While this season looks ugly, Mel Tucker isn’t going anywhere. Tucker received a 10-year, 95-million-dollar extension this past offseason.  He will not be fired because of one bad year.

Penn State can still try to use this season against Michigan State when going head-to-head in recruiting battles. The Nittany Lions have already won key recruiting battles over Tucker this cycle, landing Elliot Washington and King Mack over Tucker.

Additionally, Penn State can show Ramil the success left tackle Olu Fashanu is having so far this year. Some mock drafts have Fashanu going as high as the first round, after just one year as a starter.

Selling Fashanu’s success to Ramil will be the key to possibly getting him to flip.
